Author Karen Ranney’s All for Love series concludes with a tale of opposites whose attraction scorches a trail from the Highlands to the glittering halls of London—and courts scandal at every turn . . .
Politics has introduced MP Logan McKnight to many fascinating people, but the lady he encounters on the lands bordering his ancestral Scottish home outshines them all. Eleanor Craig of Hearthmere seats a Thoroughbred like a queen knows as much about world events as any of his colleagues—and is engaged to one of the worst men Logan knows. She also seems lonely, so Logan brings her a friend. Thus should their acquaintance end, yet it’s only just begun.
The puppy Logan delivers is every bit as irresistible as the man himself. How could this stranger sense the isolation Eleanor suffers among her scheming, snobbish extended family and fiancé who control her life? It’s even worse in London—until she begins meeting Logan secretly in a secluded park. Their passionate connection frees Eleanor, body and soul. But discovery threatens disgrace—or worse.
A review…Politics and puppies bring together the convincing couple at the center of the charming conclusion to Ranney’s Victorian-set All for Love trilogy (after To Wed an Heiress). For the past three years, orphaned Scottish heiress Eleanor Craig has lived with her uncle’s widow in London. She’s expected to hide her interests in current events and horses and behave like a proper lady, especially once she gets engaged to Michael, the Earl of Herridge, and finds herself thrust into society’s spotlight.
While visiting her family’s home in Scotland, Eleanor meets Logan McKnight, a Member of Parliament, as he’s wandering his family’s nearby estate. Logan….. Sensing her loneliness leads him to give her a puppy named Bruce. Both back in London, Logan is disappointed to learn that Eleanor’s engaged to his political rival. But as Logan and Eleanor continue to meet under the guise of dog training, Eleanor wonders if she’s promised her heart to the wrong man. The slow build of trust between Eleanor and Logan is believable and sweet, and Bruce steals every scene he’s in. Readers will be sad to see this sparkling series end.
